Keep your number to yourself

Chat without sharing your phone number.

Some people need a way to reach you for one conversation. They don’t necessarily need your personal number. BrezLink gives that conversation a temporary invitation link instead.

A link for this conversation, not your everyday contact details

Sharing a phone number can create a way to contact you long after the original conversation. A BrezLink connection keeps messages in a separate browser-based chat, with a visible expiry and an option to end the connection.

The creator signs in to make an invitation. A recipient can open a valid invitation and join as a guest without creating an account or installing an app. Already signed-in recipients can use their existing account.

Useful for people you have just met

  • After an event: continue a discussion or send a portfolio without exchanging personal numbers.
  • A short collaboration: discuss a task and share supported documents in the same conversation.
  • A one-off exchange: coordinate with a new contact through a link you send directly.

These are invitations between people, not public chat rooms or automatic matching with strangers. Share your link only with its intended recipient.

Phone-number privacy is not complete anonymity

You do not need to exchange phone numbers to talk. A signed-in account may show a display name and username, and whatever you choose to send is visible to the other participant. Creators sign in with Google, so not exchanging a number is not anonymous account creation. BrezLink does not currently provide end-to-end encryption.

A temporary connection cannot prevent someone from saving information you share. Use the chat thoughtfully, just as you would any conversation with a new contact. Learn about temporary connection expiry or follow the invitation walkthrough.

Use the practical contact-privacy checklist before sending an invitation or document.
