Temporary chat

Temporary chat links: access, expiry and ending a conversation.

A temporary chat gives a short conversation its own space. Share a BrezLink invitation link instead of handing over your phone number for every new connection.

What is a temporary chat?

It is a conversation with an expiry, rather than an open-ended way to contact you. In BrezLink, you create a connection, choose an available duration and invite one person through a link. The expiry is visible in the chat, so both people can see how long the connection lasts.

Use it to coordinate a one-off project, follow up after an event, or talk through a marketplace exchange. You choose who receives the invitation; BrezLink is not a random-stranger matching service.

When the conversation is finished

Either signed-in participant can end an accepted connection. Further messaging stops. Retained history can remain available to authorized signed-in participants after expiry; revoked connections have stricter, owner-only history access. You can check the connection details for its creation date, invitation status and expiry.

Eligible creators can extend an active temporary connection under their current entitlements. An expired or ended chat cannot be reopened through the extension option. Eligible connections can also become permanent when both people agree.

Temporary does not mean a promise to erase every copy

Someone can save a file or take a screenshot while they have access. Connection expiry is an access boundary, not a guarantee that everything another person has saved disappears. File deletion, expiring download links and account plan rules can separately affect file access. BrezLink does not currently provide end-to-end encryption.

For the practical steps, see how to create and share a chat link. To understand the difference between an invitation and handing over your number, read chatting without sharing your phone number.
