Does no signup apply to the creator, the guest or both?
Opening a chat link without signing up is different from creating one without an account. RoomLnk advertises a free room without signup; FadeChats says neither participant needs an account. Check the service’s current requirements before inviting someone.
On BrezLink, the creator signs in with Google and creates an invitation. The invited recipient can join as a guest in their browser without an account or app. That guest should keep using the same browser session. Choose this flow when a signed-in creator and a simple guest entry suit the exchange.
Do you need a disposable conversation or files you can find again?
For a conversation you do not need to revisit, a disposable room may fit. FadeChats describes a disappearing room with view-once images. Its published behavior is different from a file library; confirm it meets your needs before sending something you will need later.
BrezLink combines temporary conversations with Documents for authorized signed-in users. Search eligible attachments by filename, filter sent or received files, and apply your own tags. It does not search inside PDFs, import other messaging apps or replace a backup. Guest access to a chat is not a signed-in Document Manager account.
Does expiry stop messages, delete history or remove files?
These are separate behaviors. RoomLnk says free rooms expire after 12 hours and messages are deleted. FadeChats describes room removal after inactivity or when both people leave. Read the current policy rather than assuming all temporary chats behave alike.
BrezLink shows the selected connection expiry in the chat. Expiry stops further messaging; retained history may remain available to authorized signed-in participants. Revocation, attachment deletion and plan access have separate effects. An expired download link is not proof that its stored file was deleted.
No chat expiry can recall a copy someone already downloaded or prevent them from photographing a screen. Agree on what may be kept before sharing.
Is hiding your phone number enough for this exchange?
Keeping your phone number out of a conversation is useful, but it does not establish anonymity or end-to-end encryption. BrezLink creators use Google sign-in, displayed account details may identify you, and BrezLink does not currently provide end-to-end encryption.
For sensitive material, assess encryption, provider access and retention separately. Choose a service whose documented protections meet your requirements; avoid sending the material when those protections are unclear.
A checklist before sending your first invitation
- Confirm the creator and guest account requirements on the service you choose.
- Check the invitation lifetime and the conversation expiry; they may be different.
- Confirm supported attachments and the current file-size and usage allowances.
- Decide whether you need disposable messages or authorized access to shared files later.
- Review displayed names and remove unintended contact details from documents.
- Send the invitation directly to the intended recipient and keep an independent copy of important files.
