Share files through an invitation

How to Share Project Files Without Exchanging Phone Numbers

Create a temporary conversation, invite the intended recipient, and exchange supported files there. With BrezLink, the creator signs in; an invited recipient can join as a guest in their browser without giving you a phone number.

A portfolio exchange after an event

Arjun meets a potential collaborator at a design event. They want to exchange a portfolio and a short website brief before deciding whether to work together. They do not need to put each other in their personal phone contacts.

Arjun prepares portfolio-selected-work.pdf without a phone-number footer or private client details. A filename and the document contents can reveal contact information even when the chat does not request it.

From invitation to file exchange

  1. Arjun signs in with Google, chooses Create Connection, gives the conversation a useful name and selects an available duration.
  2. He uses Copy link or Share, or shows the ordinary invitation QR code to the intended recipient. This is an individual invitation, not the reusable Business QR concept advertised as Coming Soon.
  3. The recipient checks the inviter information and expiry, opens the valid invitation and joins as a guest. An existing signed-in recipient can use their account. The creator is not account-free.
  4. They send the portfolio and brief as supported chat attachments. Check Storage & usage and the current upload controls for applicable limits; this guide does not promise unlimited uploads.
  5. Arjun can open Documents in his signed-in account and label available files Portfolio, Brief or To review. The guest continues through the same browser session; signing into another device does not automatically transfer that guest session.

Agree on the boundary before sending

Tell the recipient which version you are sharing and what you expect next: “Here is the selected-work PDF; please send the brief in this chat.” Keep a master copy in your own storage. BrezLink does not import your computer’s folders or act as a backup system.

Your displayed account information and the material you send can identify you. This exchange avoids handing over a phone number; it does not make you anonymous. BrezLink does not currently provide end-to-end encryption. Choose a different channel if that is required for the material.

Finish the task without promising to erase copies

Either signed-in participant can end an accepted connection; expiry also stops further messaging. Retained history for authorized signed-in users and file availability follow separate rules. Revocation, file deletion and plan access can change what remains accessible. Download links also expire; that alone does not mean the stored file has been deleted.

A download that already reached a recipient’s device cannot be recalled through connection expiry or by deleting the original attachment. Set expectations before sharing, rather than relying on a later end date to remove copies.

For another project, create a new invitation appropriate to that exchange. Do not publicly post an existing private invitation as an ongoing way to contact you.
